New Work

I have been busy this spring working on new Paintings. Here’s a sneak peek of one of them titled Breakfast on the Bay. I have been very inspired by my local waterfront community and have been painting birds, seashores and local scenery.

This painting is available for purchase starting May 4th at the Bayview Art Tour in Crescent Beach. Check out my Events page for details. It is also available as prints, tea towels, mugs and pillows.

SEASCAPE PAINTINGS

Living by the ocean, I watch the ever-changing light on the water. These mixed media paintings are my way of capturing the seaside waves using light and texture. I paint these on larger-scale canvases, usually 30” or larger. Each painting uses layers of vintage hemp rope, canvas, lace, vintage paper and other “media” to bring a wonderful 3D texture to each work. These are each one of a kind. I don’t make prints of them. Each is slightly different bringing to mind the ocean on a peaceful evening, incoming storm, or lazy summer day. To inquire about availability or to find out where to view the artwork in person, please contact me.

These work from last year have all SOLD, Thank You. New large scale canvas paintings coming in Spring 2024.

Acrylic on Canvas

For the past few years I have worked mostly in acrylic on canvas and my painting style has evolved over time. Here are a few of my favourites from the past few years. Several original paintings are still available for purchase, and they are mostly all available as prints, mugs, tea towels and pillows. Contact me to inquire.

Summer Morning. In this close-up on the painting you can really see how many layers of texture and colour I use to create these paintings. I use bits of old paper, vintage lace, burlap, bakers twine and other bits of texture to create a sensation of waves on the ocean. Each painting is unique.
